Tis the season for Cadbury’s beloved Creme Eggs! While the annual sweet treat has no shortage of fans, Subway sandwiches may have taken it just a bit too far. The chain has announced the Cadbury Creme Egg…sandwich. Yes, you read that correctly.
For those that may be thinking this is like an ice cream sandwich that uses cookies instead of bread, it’s not. The Cadbury Creme Egg sandwich is the chain’s 6-inch Italian white bread sub role, with a chocolate creme egg melted in the middle.

“Our Italian White Bread and Cadbury Creme Eggs make the most flavorsome combination, a perfect seasonal treat,” Rusty Warren, Subway’s senior manager of new product development and innovation, said. Apparently, this out-of-the-box collaboration was conjured up by Subway who reached out to Cadbury.
“When Subway approached us to create this eggs-traordinary Submelt, we simply couldn’t resist,” Charlotte Docker, brand executive for Cadbury Creme Egg, said. “The highly-anticipated Creme Egg season is in full swing and we’re so excited to launch this innovative product with Subway as a final hoorah of the season,” she added.
This unique sub will only be available March 7th at four locations in the UK; London’s Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool’s Ranelagh Street, Swansea’s Peniel Green Road, and Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street. Subway will be giving them away for free but they are limited to 500 subs. So each location will only have 125 to offer.
While it doesn’t seem like the Cadbury Creme Egg sandwich will make it outside of the UK. We assume you could just buy an Italian white bread role from Subway and raid the easter candy to make one. Or better yet, melt one between some Subway cookies. Maybe even on one of the chain’s footlong cookies.
We wish anyone trying to partake in this offer the best of luck. [While silently wondering if you are okay.]
