German toy maker Playmobil has revealed their next “Star Trek” inspired playset- a Klingon Bird of Prey based on the classic 1984 film “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.” Trekkies can travel to different worlds in the Federation, the Klingon Empire, or the Genesis planet itself. Playmobil’s ship comes with everything you need to stage an iconic battle between the U.S.S. Enterprise (also a Playmobil set), and the Klingon commander over the Genesis planet.

    • A bottom plate for the ship based on Planet Genesis, with lava and tripod.
    • 4 monitor disks, for light and sound sequences from U.S.S. Enterprise, Kirk, the U.S.S. Grissom, and the Genesis Device
    • 2 disruptor guns, swords, and communicators
    • A pistol
    • 4 pairs of arm cuffs

    Features:

    • The two wings on the ship can be tilted into three different positions.
    • You can fire projectiles from the disruptor canons by pulling the trigger.
    • The roof of the ship’s bridge is removable
    • There is space for 2 of the figures inside of the bridge. They even have adjustable seats!
    • The monitor discs can also be stowed away in a compartment in the base plate
    • A flap under the hull that covers the USB port.
    • It can be set up with the base plate or hung on a hook with cords.
    • It has three different kinds of sounds controlled by colorful buttons:
      • Black is the firing sequence.
      • Silver plays Klingon exclamations in a random order.
      • Blue generates drive sounds and effects.
    • The Bird of Prey also has continuous power and ambiance mode, which runs for two hours before the toy shuts down.

Playmobil’s Klingon Bird of Prey playset is rated for ages 10 and up. It is currently available for pre-order here, and will ship later this month.
