For any parent who wants to indulge in their kid’s nerdy obsessions, creating Hobbit feet can be a daunting task. If you want them to look realistic- or at least how JRR Tolkien imagined them in “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings“- they have to be big and hairy. You can try to use your own feet but odds are that they’re not quite obtuse enough to be considered screen accurate. Luckily, someone shared instructions for creating easy Hobbit feet that I know I’ll be referencing in the future.
Check it out!
Materials you’ll need:
- Crocs
- Men’s socks
- Fabric markers or paint (you can probably even use acrylic)
How to do it:
The instructions say you’ll want to get socks the color of your child’s skin, but for the sake of our sanity just get white. Try to find ones without labels or those toe lines in them, you can cover them up but it will be a nuisance to. After obtaining the socks pull your kids crocs out of the closet and slip them over. Then get to sketching and painting! It’s really that easy!
Tom Fowler also posted a few other tips. He says Value Village is a great place to find things to throw the outfit together.
So, happy Hobbit Halloween!
