The developers take a lot of pride in making the game as realistic as possible. This means that the Buccaneers tops the charts when it comes to overall rating (OVR), closely followed by the Bills, Rams, and Packers. Just like how the real life odds for the NFL can change throughout a season, so can the overall ratings of the teams depending on how they perform.
A brief history
The gaming franchise Madden is, as you may or may not know, named after the legendary football coach John Madden. Madden revolutionized the way football is played and he was a big part in ushering in a more modern way of playing football. After his career as a coach he had a hugely successful career as an expert for broadcasts. He loaned his name out to the new video game franchise tied to the NFL and featured in many different commercials promoting the new series.
The cover for Madden 23
The cover art for games in the Madden series has for a long time been occupied by one of the hottest players in the league the previous year. This year however, the developers have decided to make a change and are opting to go back to their roots. The first games in the series had a larger focus on making the player feel like a coach. Therefore, the first installments of the series had John Madden on the cover, something that is coming back to Madden 23. This has received mixed feedback with some players loving the throwback to the first games in the series, while others say they would have preferred a player on the cover.
The release date
The release date is just around the corner at the time of writing this article. The game is scheduled to release for all platforms on August 15th, just as the NFL pre-season enters its most hectic stages. Football is soon going to be back, and many people are looking forward to warming up with the newest installment in the Madden series.
