“Hunger Games” with Katniss and Peeta became a world wide phenomenon. First, with the novels by Suzanne Collins, and then with the feature films from Lionsgate. Collins wrote a prequel novel to the “Hunger Games” book series titled “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” which focused on Coriolanus Snow (who would later be President Snow) as a boy.
Tom Blyth has been cast as young Coriolanus Snow (President Snow) in the upcoming film adaptation of “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” Blyth is known for playing Archie Baldwin on HBO Max’s “The Gilded Age,” and Billy the Kid in the “Billy the Kid” television series.
President Snow is not a likable character in the novels, and did some really horrible things. In “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” readers get to know Snow on a more personal level. For some, it was hard to swallow given he was such a creep.
The film adaptation for “Songbirds and Snakes” was announced back in 2020. Francis Lawrence, who directed the first three movies, is directing this one as well. Now that they’ve cast their lead more news should be coming on the intended release date.
