It’s been a hell of a ride for “The Expanse.” Based on the sci-fi novels by James S.A. Corey (Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck), the series originally called the SYFY Channel home. After three seasons, SYFY pulled the plug on the fan-favorite. It was actually pulling in solid numbers, especially for a genre show.
Amazon eventually swooped in and saved it, much to the joy of the cast, crew, and fans. The announcement was actually made by former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos during a panel at the National Space Society’s International Space Development Conference.
Despite some…messy…former cast member issues…”The Expanse” has remained a popular and successful show. News of a 6th and final season was met with sadness, but also joy that the story had been able to continue this long.
“Holden and the crew of the Rocinante fight alongside the Combined Fleet of Earth and Mars to protect the Inner Planets from Marco Inaros and his Free Navy’s campaign of death and destruction. Meanwhile, on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power rises.“
The 6th and final season of “The Expanse” will hit Amazon Prime Video on December 10th, 2021. New episodes will release weekly. The series finale will air on January 14th, 2022.
