Body Found in Pasadena, CA Goodwill Donation Bin

There’s no predicting the kinds of things that people will leave for donation at goodwill stores. Sometimes you find hidden treasures that make you wonder if someone actually was aware of the value of the item. On the opposite end of the spectrum are things that make you wonder why the store actually made self-space for this crap. Then there are things that make it into the donation bins that never make it onto shelves at all, like a dead body.

At approximately 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 8th, police were called to a Pasadena Goodwill store due to reports of a body being found. As the investigation is pending, police have not released information about the victim, only that he’s an adult male. The body was wrapped in a tarp and a blanket, and was found amongst other items in the bin.

Bizarrely enough, this isn’t the first time this has happened. On the other side of the country in upstate New York, a body was found inside of a donation bin. Police in the city of Glens Falls discovered a burning donation bin in the early morning hours of March 6th, 2025. A body was discovered inside the blaze. In May, the victim was discovered to be Michelle McFarren, but as of the time of this writing, no one has been arrested in connection with the crime.

There is something horribly perverse about utilizing a donation bin to hide a body. Symptomatic of the world today? Sadly, it just may be. We can only hope the perpetrators behind these crimes are found and brought to justice.
