We are delighted to report that production on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” has officially kicked off! Director James Gunn made the announcement earlier this morning with a post to Twitter.
Fans have been waiting for a firm production start for the 3rd installment of “GoTG“ for sometime. There was the entire affair of Disney/Marvel Studios firing (and eventually rehiring) Gunn. Then he made a pretty darn great film for ‘rival’ Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics Films. But, Gunn calls the “Guardians” team his family.

It’s been a strange & long & at times challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting #gotgvol3pic.twitter.com/DrF8ZV8bvz
We do know that Adam Warlock will FINALLY play an important part. Will Poulter was recently announced as taking the role.
There were also some storyboard teases earlier this year from Gunn himself. The massive stack of papers kinda makes our imaginations run wild with all the possibilities.
The next “Guardians of the Galaxy” thing we’ll be getting is the holiday special for Disney+, but we still don’t have a release date yet.
We will of course let you know about this and other news.
Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief.
Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence.
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
