While everything is subject to change based on the current and let’s face it, future pandemic implications, that hasn’t stopped The Mouse House from building a schedule spanning 7 years into the future. Everything from anticipated Marvel Studios releases to Disney remakes, the studio has so much on the docket it’s hard to fathom just much they dominate the overall film industry. Let’s take a quick look at what’s upcoming from Disney, Pixar, Fox, and Marvel Studios as it stands right now!
Marvel Studios Releases
Though the “Eternals” and “Spiderman: No Way Home” are set to release at the end of 2021, with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and a hefty release schedule for Disney+, Marvel Studios has a schedule stretching all the way to 2024.

While nothing is set in stone (as the current stint of pandemic woes have proven), it is comforting to know that with all of the experimental and out there content Marvel Studios is producing right now, they clearly have a plan and are thinking years into the future with their universe. Forethought goes a very long way, so take notes Warner Bros. Pictures- you can’t create a universe if you don’t even have a planet.
Walt Disney Studios, Star Wars, Avatar, and More:
For the future, a number of films have been given official upcoming release dates. “Bob’s Burgers Movie” will hit in 2022, “The Little Mermaid” remake is slated for 2023. Take this with a huge grain of salt but “Avatar 2” is still on the schedule for a December 2022 release, with “Avatar 3” slated for a 2024 release. I’ll believe it when I see it, as it “Avatar” sequels are about as real as the “Matrix 4,” which even with a trailer I don’t actually believe is a real film. Patty Jenkins‘ “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” is still slated for 2023. The new Guillero Del Toro psychological thriller “Nightmare Alley” is set to release in 2021.

More Releases and Methods
In addition the upcoming Marvel Studios schedule, Disney also announced the release dates and method for a number of upcoming films this year and beyond. For 2021, it seems “Eternals,” “Encanto,” and a number of Fox acquired properties (like “West Side Story” and “The Last Duel“) will get an exclusive theatrical release, meaning no Disney+ til after the window closes. This is a different kind of experiment for the studio, as a majority of their agreements with theater chains are slated for a 45-day exclusive window.
Animated film “Encanto” is being released November 24th, 2021 with a 30-day exclusive theatrical window. Likewise, the Fox releases that also includes “Ron’s Gone Wrong” all fall within the contractual 45-day window, which means all of these films will be available for streaming a month and a half after their release.
The point is, Disney adding a huge roster of Fox releases now that they’ve fully acquired that entire catalog makes for one dominate run in the next few years. To provide some context, Disney will be releasing 10 films between now and the end of 2021, 18 films in 2022, and 14 films in 2023.
This doesn’t even include anything else that’s being released on Disney+, which is so extensive it needs a whole different article to cover. Needless to say, Disney has no shortage of heavy hitters lined across all platforms, loading all of their studios with a massive number of releases that, when including the streaming releases, carry all the way into 2028.
It’s probably best to start eating healthy, changing that workout regiment, and maybe get the vaccine so you can live long enough to witness this vast catalog of releases!
