Kyle Gallner, Raul Castillo Join Cast of Aaron Katz’s “Inground”

With summer just around the corner, you know it’s time for some pool-themed horror! Kyle Gallner (Smile 2) and Raul Castillo (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) have just joined the cast of the new horror thriller Inground. They will co-star alongside the previously announced Alexandra Daddario (Couples Weekend).

Aaron Katz (Gemini) will direct from a screenplay by Dan Dworkin (The Lost Symbol).

Inground tells the story of a divorced father desperately trying to reconnect with his young son. As a bonding activity, they start the summer project of building a pool in the backyard. However, this home renovation soon takes a terrifying turn.

Unlike previous entries into the pool-based horror genre, like 2018’s The Pool,  2017’s 12 Feet Deep, and 2024’s Night Swim. This one is less centered on the horrors that can happen in a completed pool and more on the horrors of constructing one. We may finally get a hole-digging montage to rival 2001’s Frailty, and we all know that is a high bar.

Some fans of the genre may be worried this could compete with Newt Wallen’s upcoming Amityville Pool Toy Massacre. We think the market is big enough for two differnt projects. Espically considering how tonaly differnt they are, but only time will tell.

Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Sam Roston are producing for Scott Free Productions. Nathan Klingher, Joshua Harris, and Ford Corbett are producing for Gramercy Park. Filming is currently underway in Atlanta.

Currently, there is no set release date for Inground. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the project as it develops.
