We love to keep an eye on auctions of Hollywood memorabilia. Sometimes, it’s curiosity- to see what the high ticket item might be for the discerning collector. Other times….it’s because we want the item ourselves. Like in this case with Prop Store’s upcoming auction. Included in the highlights for June’s Entertainment Memorabilia auction are things like Harrison Ford‘s “Temple of Doom” Indiana Jones fedora, Sir Patrick Stewart‘s iconic Captain Jean Luc Picard flute from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and a little something from “Star Wars.”
Lot #301 is Carrie Fisher‘s green leather bound “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” script, complete with her hand written notations from SEVERAL key scenes. Starting bid is $15,000 (USD), with an appraisal of $50,000.
If you were unaware, Fisher was a talented script doctor and celebrated ghostwriter. Some of her suggestions, as you can see in the preview for the item, became iconic lines from a galaxy far, far away. So, not only was Princess Leia a force to be reckoned with on screen in “Empire“…she was one hell of a writer, too.
As you can see from these photos from Prop Store, this isn’t just a kick-around script. The 5th edition has Carrie’s handwritten notes and dialog changes penciled in. Pretty wonderful to see her hand in so many of these memorable scenes and exchanges.
There are SO. MANY. PAGES.
