Jamie Lee Curtis was able to give an amazing gift recently to a “Halloween” superfan who was terminally ill. She officiated the wedding of 29-year old Anthony Woodle less than an hour before he passed.

It was around the time of his diagnosis that he reached out to Rough House Productions who was able to set him up with Jamie Lee Curtis. When they first connected they spoke about his health, intent to marry and of course all about the “Halloween” franchise.

Anthony Woodle was an aspiring horror director when he was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in 2019. He was engaged to be married to his fiancé Emilee on September 13th which Jamie Lee Curtis offered to officiate. Unfortunately the day of the ceremony his health took a turn for the worst and less than an hour later he passed.

As his family surrounded him as he laid unconscious in bed. Jamie Lee Curtis started the ceremony at 10:30 pm.

“Anthony and Emilee, all anyone is promised is this moment,” Curtis said. “We live and we love in this moment. May the blessings of God rest upon you, may his peace abide with you, may her spirit illuminate your heart now, in this moment. With the power vested in me by the internet, it is my great pleasure to tell you that you are now married people.”

He passed away at 11:15 pm.

Before he passed however he was one of the first people to be able to see the upcoming thriller Halloween Kills. Director David Gordon Green set up a private screening of the film which is not slated to release until 2021. His fiancé Emilee said to Charleston’s Post and Courier media outlet, “That was the most I’ve seen him smile — during and after the movie.”
