We admit- we totally forgot a tv series about the life and times of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was coming from NBC. “Young Rock” will chronicle Johnson’s youth, as well as his coming up through the family business of wrestling.

Announced this morning on his Instagram, we’ve got our first look at the three actors who will take on the role of The Rock throughout notable ages.

    Adrian Groulx, Age 10

“At 10 years old, I was rambunctious as all hell, was already girl crazy  and loved pro wrestling — especially the part when wrestlers would bleed. I was all these things but at the core I was a sweet little boy and a complicated little cub  who just needed guidance. Years later here we are and I did alright,” Johnson said.

    Bradley Constant, Age 15

    Uli Latukefu, Age 20

“We’re going to find Young Rock, for example, wreaking havoc in the streets of Hawaii when I was a very young teenager, getting arrested seemingly every single week, doing a lot of things I shouldn’t have been doing. Still a good kid. Then from there of course we were evicted off the island and forced to leave the island and move to of all places Nashville, TN where again I continued to get in trouble. Then we go into my high school years, and then onto Young Rock as a University of Miami football star, if you will, until I got beat out of my position by a guy by the name of Warren Sapp, who just happened to go on to become one of the greatest defensive tackles of all time,” Johnson said.

There was also casting for Johnson’s grandmother, mother, and father.

Ana Tuisila will play Lia Maivia, Stacey Leilua will play Ata Johnson, and Joseph Lee Anderson will play Rocky Johnson.

We’ll let you know when we hear about a possible release date from NBC.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
