We’re halfway through April and Star Wars Day is fast approaching. If you don’t remember Star Wars Day is May 4th. And as a special treat for us Disney Plus is going to premiere an eight episode documentary on the making of The Mandalorian.
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will contain never before seen footage of the making of the show. Along with interviews of the cast, crew and production team. They will be doing an in depth look at the animatronics involved in The Child as well as how they were able to animate IG-11.
They will include cutting room floor and roundtable conversations hosted by director, writer, and producer Jon Favreau. It’s a unique opportunity to be able to see how The Mandalorian came together as well as a good chance to learn about some of the unseen factors in the show.
The show will also serve as easy content since it’s impossible to start filming any new shows right now. Since they already have all the footage putting this documentary together will be a quick fix for them regarding new material and a treat for us because we get to see what went on behind the scenes.
The Mandalorian is probably the first part of the franchise that most Star Wars fans have bonded over in a long time. It will be good to be able to watch something that is so widely celebrated among fans and has reunited us after the movies had divided opinions. Even though we can’t go out and celebrate fans will no doubt gather on twitter and tweet as they watch the documentary live, and that will connect us at least virtually.
