The COVID-19 pandemic has brought trouble for big and small screen productions. However, you might be pleased to learn that The Umbrella Academy season 2 hasn’t been affected ahead of its Netflix return!

While many shows and productions have been encouraged to stop indefinitely as we wait for the pandemic to reach some solutions and hopefully a conclusion, we still can look forward to The Umbrella Academy as post-production is moving forward.
Fortunately for us the filming portion was concluded back in November. So no actors are being encouraged to break social distancing for things to move forward. Showrunner Steve Blackman has used Instagram to keep fans up to date, confirming that post-production is continuing as planned.
So it looks like it may be released some time this year. Which is fortunate for us fans!
For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it is based on a comic series of the same name by Dark Horse Comics. The show revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death and the threat of an impending apocalypse. It is a serious that relies heavily on the premise of time hopping. It is also heavy with mature themes. It is also excellently shot and the effects are equally as epic. Released in February of 2019, it is very fortunate that we are getting the second season what seems to be on time.
Are you as excited as we are for the return of The Umbrella Academy? Let us know in the comments.
