Original Transformers writer David Wise has passed away. He was responsible for many key episodes of Transformers including “The Secret of Omega Supreme”, “The Key to Vector Sigma” and “The Rebirth.” He was only 65 and passed away from complications from lung cancer. They announced his death on his official twitter account earlier today.

After a tough battle with lung cancer, David Wise passed away peacefully at home last night surrounded by family. Please feel free to tag this account to express your condolences. All are welcome here, just as they were in David's life: friend, family, peer, fan, all of you.

He not only wrote on Transformers but also Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, Mighty Ducks, Batman: The Animated Series, Buck Rogers, Wonder Woman, He-Man, Mighty Orbots and Star Trek: The Animated Series. Basically if you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s he was some how part of your childhood.

Thank you David Wise for making our childhood’s more entertaining. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this time of grief. If it brings them any comfort, his work will not be forgotten.
