According to a tweet from Disney+ Updates Emilio Estevez will be reprising his role as Gordon Bombay in ‘The Mighty Ducks’ series. Estevez was part of what made the movies so memorable and now he will be taking a lead role in the show. The show is to be ten episodes long and run exclusively on Disney Plus.

Since he is coming back as Coach Bombay we know that he is going to play a major role in this new series. The Illuminerdy also confirms that he will play a major role. We announced the series revival last year in November when the logline was put up.

“After getting kicked off the junior division Mighty Ducks team, a 13-year-old boy and his mom decide to start their own team, finding players, a coach, and a place to play.”

So what it seems like is maybe Coach Bombay retired and was brought back into the fold when the 13 year old’s mom brings him back into it. I mean, that would be the obvious route anyway. What is certain is that it will be one of the highlights of content we’re looking forward to and it’s going to be exciting how this all plays out.

Most likely we’re going to see a lot more of the original cast of the movies as they have been gathering together a lot more lately. Probably catching up and getting ready for some cameos.
