According to this teaser tweet, it seems that work has finally begun on the long awaited Willow series by Disney+!
Writer Jon Kasdan (Solo) recently shared a photo on Twitter revealing that the writer’s room has officially been set up for the project! Now Lucasfilm can start moving forward.
That hat pinned up on the corkboard features the character Willow as well as says the word “Willow” so we are sure that is what the project is. I mean, obviously.
Howard previously talked about the concept of developing a Willow sequel series saying,
“I think it’d be a great way to go. In fact, George always talked about the possibility of a Willow series, and it’d be great and more intimate, and built around that character and some of the others. And Jon Kasdan has, I think, an inspired take on it and it could be really, really cool.”
Warwick Davis will reprise his role as the title character, and we are super excited about this move. Howard already confirmed that Warwick would and said that the series would explore a “more mature Willow.” He also said,
“Warwick is so cool and so good and he’s such a good actor that I really hope we get the chance to see the mature Willow in action.”
