    Star Wars Barbie Collection Announced!

Mattel has announced a brand new line of Star Wars Barbies that will be released this September. If you remember not long ago we talked about the Marvel Barbie line that they released including Storm, Dark Phoenix and Mystique. They really seem to be upping their game in the nerd culture scene and are making what I call, “Cosplay” Barbies. They are absolutely stunning and cost a bit less than their previous releases such as My Fair Lady and other movie inspired Barbies. These dolls are to be released September 18th. The dolls are to commemorate Star Wars: A New Hope.

    Darth Vader

Oh Momma! She is gorgeous! This will definitely be the next genderbent cosplay in the community, look at how stunning she is! She captures Darth Vader’s Sith armor silhouette in head-to-toe black. She wears a shiny-black peplum top, panelled pencil skirt and knee-high boots. Metallic details at her collar and waist, dark glasses and a long, black cape finish the look. And she comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. You can click here to learn more.

    R2D2

Up next is this kawaii version of our droid friend R2D2. This collectible Star Wars x Barbie doll captures R2-D2’s look in a geometric ensemble with a dome skirt, bomber jacket and thigh-high boots over silvery tights. A vibrant blue ponytail and “radar eye” detail complete the look and she comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. You can learn more about her here.

    Princess Leia

What better way to pay homage to Carrie Fisher than by owning this lovely doll. This collectible Star Wars x Barbie doll captures Princess Leia’s iconic look in an elegant gown with dramatic, floor-length sleeves. Details include a silvery peplum belt, cuff jewelry and an up-do inspired by her signature bun hairstyle. Star Wars Princess Leia x Barbie doll includes a Star Wars doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. You can find out more about her by clicking here.

If you liked these you should also check out the Marvel series I mentioned before. They are even more affordable and a perfect addition for anyone who already collects “action figures.”
