Director Lee Isaac Chung is set to direct the pilot of “Beef,” starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong for Netflix and A24. The project is a 10-episode half-hour drama / comedy. Chung and Yeun were both nominated for Academy Awards for their last project together: “Minari”. Sad news Wickans, “John Wick: Chapter 4” has shifted their release date nearly a year. Keanu Reeves fans will just have to sate themselves on “The Matrix Resurrections” in the interim. The film was originally set to come out on May 27, 2022. Lionsgate made the announcement yesterday. They didn’t cite an explicit reason for the move. The “John Wick” franchise centers around Reeves playing a former hitman who comes out of retirement. The series has been incredibly successful, leading to a bevy of sequels. Designer Nick Acosta has created a Life Day blessing for us all by giving “The Star Wars Holiday Special” a 4K trailer treatment. We didn’t think the special could get any more spectacular, but here we are.  In the spirit of Peter Jackson’s Beatles documentary “Get Back,” this trailer gives us a glimpse at familiar figures with new clarity. LEGO Ideas is the gift that keeps on giving, this time we’re highlighting a bricktastic version of “MythBusters.” With minifigs of hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hynemen, as well as Build Team Tory Belleci, Kari Byron, and the late great Grant Imahara. The cast of “Renfield” just keeps getting better (and slightly more bizarre) as Ben Schwartz has joined the cast. Schwartz is best known for his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog and Jean-Ralphio Saperstein from “Parks and Recreation.” It sounds like the actor will be playing a mobster in the film. None other than Laurence Fishburne dropped us a holiday gift with a preview of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” Though brief, we got a glimpse of a psychedelic color palette, highly stylized action, and of course our titular heroes. The series is based on the Marvel comic that ran from 2015 – 2019. It centers around Lunella Lafayette who was actually named the smartest hero in the entire Marvel Universe.
