After watching Apple TV+’s “Luck,” we feel like we are the cursed ones. The new animated film centers around a just turned adult woman named Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada) who is “the unluckiest person in the world.” She meets a magical cat (voiced by Simon Pegg doing his best Craig Ferguson impression). What ensues is an excruciating 1 hour 37 minute “adventure” taking one through the land of Luck.  The film feels more like a series of Rube Goldberg machine-esque or overly choreographed sequences strung together. Sam’s bad luck seems to manifest in the form of physical clumsiness more often…

If a (nearly) nude Christopher Meloni can’t motivate you to join Peloton, we aren’t quite sure what will. The brand which initially gained fame through their at home bikes and subscription classes, is no stranger to being in the cultural zeitgeist (for good and bad reasons). They’ve been on quite a roller coaster of commercials – from the 2019 commercial featuring a woman possibly trapped in a horror story. To the Ryan Reynolds-produced, Chris Noth-starring “And Just Like That”  response one. (That one was pulled quickly due to Noth being accused of sexual assault.) Now Peloton is proving they aren’t…

We got a chance to chat to “The Sea Beast” writer/director Chris Williams about the greatest cinematic action heroes, orphaned animated leads, and how an audience gains ownership of a film once it’s out in the wild. It’s clear from the get go that Williams is a huge fan of action, one of his major inspirations is George Miller’s Mad Max character. There is also a huge amount of Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones DNA infused into the film. Bringing the thrill of his formative childhood franchises to an animated film is not new to Williams, but this is definitely his…
