Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

So, this rumor has a pretty big nugget of truth to it. There is a dancing film currently in the works at Lionsgate, with Jennifer Grey attached to star and executive produce. What no one is really saying is if this untitled dancing film is a direct connection to the seminal 80’s classic “Dirty Dancing.” Although it is heavily implied. No word on if this Lionsgate dancing project is the same one announced waaaaaaay back in 2011 with original Dirty Dancing director Kenny Ortega at the helm, but maybe? All we really know at this time is that this project…

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since 20th Century Fox’s first “X-Men” film hit theaters. Directed by Bryan Singer and written by Tom DeSanto with singer, this summer film was for some fans an introduction, and for others a live-action adaptation they had been waiting for.It was also, for some of us, a HUGE disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, several of the casting choices were spot on- like Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and eventually Kelsey Grammer as Beast as well as Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler- but the rest? Eeeeeeh. This is not to…
