Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

We almost had a “The Flash” stand alone movie written by comics mainstay Grant Morrison, and the film’s star, Ezra Miller. If you’ll recall, there were some…differing opinions on what the state of the future of Warner Bros. Pictures DC Comics slate of films should be. Originally, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were tapped to write the script for a stand alone film about the fastest man on earth, starring Miller. Reports had this project as a more “light hearted” take than the previous films in the DCEU (sound familiar?) with more of the humor we saw from Barry…

Ok, there is part of this report that we’re marginally sure of; Walt Disney Studios have apparently tapped director Garth Davis to tackle the much-delayed “Tron 3” film. And, if you believe sourceless stories from various outlets- that Oscar winner Jared Leto will star. We say sourceless, because Deadline (who we won’t link to because reasons) has a story this morning stating this as a done deal, but without any source or actual….you know, proof? We do think the Davis news is likely, though. If you’ll recall, back in 2017, Leto’s name was already being rumored with a possible third…

Double Fine Production’s highly anticipated “Psychonauts 2.” “In Psychonauts 2, Raz realizes his dream and visits Psychonauts Headquarters,” the game’s official website states. “However, when he gets there, he finds it’s not the perfect place he expected and quickly realizes that the Psychonauts need him more than he needs them.”…

The strange case of a sitting US President issuing a blanket ban on a foreign-owned and run social media company keeps getting weirder. If you’ll recall, Donald Trump has been saber rattling this past week about his plan to ban China-owned TikTok, social media app, unless an American company were to outright purchase it. He even went so far as to sign an executive order to ban TikTok within “45 days” if a sale was unable to happen. Microsoft seemed the most likely candidate to purchase of TikTok from Parent company ByteDance, and still seem keen on making it happen.…

We were absolutely thrilled when BBC announced their plans to adapt the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett’s “Discworld” book series as a brand-new television show. Just today they’ve announced when we’ll be seeing “The Watch,” and released some first look images! [all photos courtesy of BBC America] BBC America says: From lead writer and executive producer Simon Allen, the modern and inclusive series is inspired by the characters created by Sir Terry Pratchett’s famous “Discworld”  including the captain of The City Watch Sam Vimes (Richard Dormer), the last scion of nobility Lady Sybil Ramkin (Lara Rossi), the naïve but heroic Carrot (Adam…

Remember how…confused…we all were when director Quentin Tarantino announced his plans to write and direct an R-Rated upcoming “Star Trek” film? Sure, we were morbidly curious to see what he would do with the property from a purely academic stance- but we can all agree it would have been pretty bat-shit crazy. Just this week, Paramount Pictures got themselves a brand new Motion Picture Group President, Melissa Watts. One of her first orders of business? Reportedly trying to figure out what’s next for the “Star Trek” movie franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Watts wants to re-asses the upcoming Paramount…
