Disney clearly learned from their merchandising mistakes last year, not having enough items for their live-action “Star Wars” series, “The Mandalorian,” to keep up with demand. Usually one to learn from such things- this means we’re getting Mando Mondays to make up for it this October. Earlier this year, we reported that the absolutely incredible life-sized almost fully-functional Gundam was nearing completion. The Japanese city of Yokohama even had a full shinto blessing ceremony for the giant robot.The Gundam has apparently entered the “testing mode,” which means we get videos of it walking!! We can’t think of a better thing to come online in 2020, because who knows what other fresh hell awaits us before the end of the year.

We are very sad to report the news that Netflix has opted not to go forward with any additional seasons of “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.” This isn’t necessarily a cancellation, as the incredible series had not been officially ordered for additional seasons. It’s kind of like “Highlander,” with two giants of science fiction- Mark Hamill and Sir Patrick Steward. We’ve always wanted to see the two duke it out with baseball bats in a giant abandoned warehouse….but this isn’t really what we were expecting.Released just a few minutes ago, this Uber Eats ad has Hamill and Stewart facing off over how to pronounce the word tomato, and also a confusing turn of phrase (for Hamill). Hamill is armed with a baseball bat, Stewart carries a cricket bat. It’s absolutely adorable and the perfect thing to start this week of right.

We WISH we were making this up, but this is completely a real thing that happened in the city of Detroit. Some say he was just a good ol boy never meaning no harm. This person, no idea if it was a male or female driver, decided to reenact a fairly notable scene from the classic film “Blues Brothers” by attempting to jump his car over an opening draw bridge. At long last, fans can pre-order the brand new Funimation Ultra HD 4K remaster of Katsuhiro Otomo’s seminal piece of anime, “AKIRA.” We’re not sure what all will be on this 4K yet, but we’ll let you know what we find out. This new “AKIRA” remaster is available to pre order on Amazon now, and is expected to start shipping on December 22nd, 2020.

We’re not going to be seeing the fairly important Spacing Guild navigators in the upcoming Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures release of “Dune.” We’re a little taken aback by this declaration from artist, conceptual designer and Denis Villeneuve collaborator, Carlos Huante. Huante worked with Villeneuve on “Arrival,” and apparently did some early concept work for the sandworms in “Dune.” During a recent chat with Who’s Nick, he revealed that he isn’t sure if his work will be featured at all in the film.And, that Villeneuve will NOT have the Navigators as part of “Dune.” Here’s what Huante said about it: “Trust…
