We are very not surprised that long running gameshow “Jeopardy!” has named Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings as intern hosts for the rest of 2021. If you’ll recall, beloved host Alex Trebek lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in November of 2020. While Trebek had recorded enough episodes to get the series into the new year, a new host needed to be selected. ABC opted for a rotating collection of guest hosts, most notable among them, at least from a public perspective, was LeVar Burton. A petition launched to get Burton to host, and gathered upwards of 287,000 signatures. He…

This is one of those lovely things we’re so happy to share. Gail Simone, celebrated comic book writer, influenced a pretty big change for DC Comics character Batgirl. If you’ll recall, Simone began writing for Barbara Gordon in 2011, and her run remains a favorite for collectors and fans. The classic character was announced as joining HBO Max series “Titans” back in January, along with a casting announcement. While this is more the Oracle timeline for Barbara, there’s more to the role than just her backstory, says actor Savannah Welch. During an interview with CinemaBlend, Welch spoke a bit about…
One of our favorite live-action films from Disney in the 80s has GOT to be “Flight of the Navigator.” It’s just one of those movies that captured our imaginations, and never really went away. It’s also one of the next titles the House of Mouse is looking to reboot/remake. In an exciting (and somewhat surprising) bit of news, Disney announced that Bryce Dallas Howard will be directing the reboot for release on Disney+. If you’ll recall, Howard has been working closely with the streaming service, having directed episodes of “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian.” Her documentary “Dads,” which is adorable,…
The one and only Mistress of the Dark is returning to host a very scary, very special Halloween spooktacular! 2021 marks a pretty amazing anniversary for the host, who has been brought to life by Cassandra Peterson for 40 freaking years. Which, if you’ve seen her recently, is absolutely baffling. Whatever blood-bathing Elvira has been doing all these years is certainly paying off. “It’s always tough turning 40, but what better way to mark the occasion than a one-night stand with Shudder, the spookiest of streamers? It’s going to be the ultimate Hallow-anniversa-ween bash, and you don’t want to miss…

Ramen. Flavored. Soda. Just, just imagine that for a second, because it’s a thing you too can experience. Nissin, name behind such collegiate food staples as Cup Noodles, is celebrating 50 years of business. To mark the occasion, they’re branching out to the soda pop market. Sora News 24 had the scoop on the 4 flavors: Cup Noodle Soda, Cup Noodle Seafood Soda, Cup Noodle Curry Soda, and Cup Noodle Chili Tomato Soda: “Cup Noodle Soda is said to be a ginger ale-style soda that contains the aroma of salty sauce and pepper, while the Cup Noodle Seafood Soda uses a cream soda-style base with a “hidden” hint of seafood.…

If George Miller’s ultimate pre, during, and post-apocalytpic “Mad Max” films are your jam, Amazon has something you’ll want to pick up. Sure, if you’re anything like us, you’ve purchased all three of Miller’s original Mel Gibson-starring films several times, so why once again? In a word? Fidelity. This long anticipated remastered 4k collection includes the first “Mad Max” film (1979), “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior” (1981), and “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome” (1985). As a completist, this is slightly frustrating with the omission of “Fury Road,” but we’ll just watch the black and chrome edition again. Also, remember to…
