At long last, the sequel to “Enchanted” is coming. Filming started on “Disenchanted” in 2021, and we hadn’t heard anything about it since then. We knew most of the cast was returning, and we knew who was directing it. To be fair, that’s still kind of all we know. BUT- we do have a 2022 release date! “Disenchanted” will star Oscar winner Amy Adams as Giselle. Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel are also set to return. And before you ask, yes, the original stars and director are returning.Michael McKean plays lead singer David St. Hubbins, Christopher Guest is lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel, and Harry Shearer is bassist Derek Smalls. Rob Reiner directed the original 1984 film, and played documentarian Marty DiGergi in the film. Reports indicate the project will be shopped around at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
