The grand Maestro of Movies John Williams is probably stepping away from his chosen profession after his current project. The 90-year-old composer of our cinema dreams came out of retirement to handle a few bars of music for the galaxy far, far away. This just in-we MAY still be getting that long-gestating “The Green Hornet and Kato” film from Universal. Word today is that “Invisible Man” helmer Leigh Whannell may be in talks to direct. Back in 2020,  David Koepp (“Jurassic Park,” “Mission: Impossible”) was announced as writing the script for the project. It’s unclear if this film will use Koepp’s script, but it’s likely. This will be a live-action film, and not (we think) related to Kevin Smith’s animated series. Today marks the season finale of Disney+’s “Star Wars” series, “Obi Wan Kenobi.” While reception has been decidedly mixed across the internet, everyone agreed on the big thing- seeing Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen together again is freaking awesome. A new “Star Wars” record has been set. Just a few minutes ago, an X-Wing miniature, Red Leader to be precise, sold at auction for $1.9 million. With buyer’s premium included, the final price tag is actually $2.3 million! It was originally expected to sell for $500,000-$1,000,000. This is a screen matched piece, used in “Star Wars Episode IV- A New Hope” in 1977. You can see the listing from Propstore here. It now holds the record for the highest-value piece of memorabilia sold from the films.

Yesterday, we brought your attention to an aspect ratio problem during Fathom Events’ special “The Thing” 40th anniversary screening.
