Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

We’ll admit, it’s been tough to keep excitement high for Amazon’s upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series. Oh don’t get us wrong, we can’t wait to see what it actually IS. But the small teases and sort of throwaway official glimpses have been…disappointing. This morning, the show- officially titled “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”- released new images. It appears, and go with us on this, to depict an actual persons from Middle Earth! We do know that Amazon purchased at least one commercial spot for Super Bowl LVI. Although reports do indicate the spot is for…

After years of rumors, we finally know who will be taking on the mantle of iconic Marvel Comics character Madame Web. As announced today, Dakota Johnson (“50 Shades of Grey,” “Susperia”) will star as the character. Technically a mutant, the clairvoyant Madame Web is an important figure in the Spider-verse. She not only mentors generations of Spider-Woman, but also Peter Parker. We’re not sure if she’ll be sporting the traditional style for the character- much older, blind, and sometimes paralyzed- but we’re curious. S.J. Clarkson, who had been originally set to become the first female director of a “Star Trek”…

Just imagine for a minute, a cult lead by Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. In “Spinal Tap” fashion, the “Mr. Show” stars are reuniting for a scripted mockumentary series for Paramount+. Called “Guru Nation,” the 30-minute episode show will showcase the pair “manipulating the minds of their deluded followers.”Odenkirk received near-universal critical praise for his performance on “Better Call Saul” over 5 seasons. That’s not to mention his multiple writing credits across live-action and animation. Cross, likewise, has been a mainstay in comedy performance and writing. “Guru Nation” was created by Cross and Odenkirk, along with Bob’s brother, Bill Odenkirk. We’ll…

When word came that Disney was working on a sequel to beloved witchy film “Hocus Pocus,” we were concerned. The original cast didn’t get confirmed for at least a year, there were questions about directors and scripts. All in all, it felt like a sudden grasp for any popular property easily revisited for Disney+. But as we know now, all three original Sanderson sisters are returning. Also, everyone’s favorite long-limbed performer, Doug Jones! He brought the character of Billy Butcherson to life (er, reanimation?) in the original film, and has been a delight to watch on screen for decades. Name…

After almost a decade of development across multiple studios, platforms, and creatives, Paramount+ will be the home of the show. This just in- it would appear that Peter S. Beagle’s iconic story “The Last Unicorn” is getting some new adaptations! According to Beagle’s official website, Fergie of Black Eyed Peas is currently working creating a stage musical based on the tale. And, if you can believe it, a live-action film as well! Thats…sort of all we know. This could be a really interesting property to develop into a stage show. We’re not sure how we feel about a live-action adaptation, as the original animation is part of the beauty and magic. Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Angela Landsbury, Alan Arkin, Tammy…
