Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Even if you don’t recognize the name Douglas Trumbull, you’ve absolutely seen his work. “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Blade Runner,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” and “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” come to mind. Trumbull was a visionary in his chosen fields, which also included writing and directing. Films like “Silent Running” wouldn’t still be talked about without his style. Fellow filmmakers and industry insiders have been sharing their thoughts on his passing. We highly suggest watching the “Blade Runner: The Final Cut” bonus material for the amazing VFX featurette. Also, “The Tree of Life,” and of course, “Star…

It appears, and go with us on this, to depict an actual persons from Middle Earth! We do know that Amazon purchased at least one commercial spot for Super Bowl LVI. Although reports do indicate the spot is for…

After years of rumors, we finally know who will be taking on the mantle of iconic Marvel Comics character Madame Web. As announced today, Dakota Johnson (“50 Shades of Grey,” “Susperia”) will star as the character. Technically a mutant, the clairvoyant Madame Web is an important figure in the Spider-verse. She not only mentors generations of Spider-Woman, but also Peter Parker. We’re not sure if she’ll be sporting the traditional style for the character- much older, blind, and sometimes paralyzed- but we’re curious. S.J. Clarkson, who had been originally set to become the first female director of a “Star Trek”…
