This morning, NatGeo and Disney+ used their TCA session to unveil new titles. These will include nature documentaries and more! Seven natural history shows, all new, are coming. There is also a limited scripted series, “A Small Light,” about Miep Gies, the young person who hid Anne Frank and her family. Three projects are coming from James Cameron. The first, “Super/Natural,” will be narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Hopefully no mention of penguins. It’ll hit Disney+ later this year. We all kind of knew this was going to happen, but it’s nice to see it confirmed. Amazon’s upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series “The Rings of Power” will debut a teaser trailer during the big game. The official Twitter account for the show confirmed this news. If your Tolkien Elvish is rusty, the above reads “Paenel en nínui,” which translates to “10-3 of the Teary One (Sindarin for February).” We definately can’t wait to see ANYTHING from the show. After years of rumors, we finally know who will be taking on the mantle of iconic Marvel Comics character Madame Web. As announced today, Dakota Johnson (“50 Shades of Grey,” “Susperia”) will star as the character. Technically a mutant, the clairvoyant Madame Web is an important figure in the Spider-verse. She not only mentors generations of Spider-Woman, but also Peter Parker.
