This just in-Netflix has FINALLY renewed “The Sandman” for a second season! The official DC Comics Twitter account accidentally posted the news early. The now-deleted tweet read: “The dream continues. [The Sandman] will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel to explore even more stories of the Endless.”We’re waiting for Netflix to post their customary witty confirmation, but source material author Neil Gaiman has been very adamant this last week that the series had not, as previously reported, been cancelled. This just in- HBO Max’s live action television series adaptation of Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us” has an official release date. We knew it was coming sometime in 2023, but as of this morning, we know exactly when. The 9-episode series, which stars Pedro Pascal and fellow “Game of Thrones” alum Bella Ramsay as Joel and Ellie, will premiere January 15th.

The news from the Continent was strange last week. Netflix’s hit adaptation of “The Witcher” announced some big casting changes. Series star Henry Cavill is leaving the role of Geralt of Rivia, and will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth. Fans were quick to bemoan the choice, questioning if the possible creative choices of producers, directors, and writers were at fault. Cavill, who is a self-professed uberfan of the source material (books, games), knows the world and the characters. So, was THAT the reason? James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” has a new aquatic trailer. It’s as visually striking as you’d expect it to be. Returning cast include Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver (albeit in a new role). New faces include Kate Winslet as Ronal, Michelle Yeoh as Dr. Karina Mogue, and Oona Chaplin as Varang. Marvel Studios is really going all-in on “WandaVision.” The Marvel Studios series stared Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany as their Avengers characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and opened a whole new world of the MCU. Kathryn Hahn was introduced as a nosy neighbor, who just HAPPENED to be very powerful witch, Agatha.
