Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Ridley Scott’s historical epic “Napoleon” has it’s first trailer. Scott directs from a script by David Scarpa. This long in the works passion project will take “an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love.” Not gonna lie, this shot of Napoleon looking at the Sphinx is probably my favorite in the trailer- playing into the story he and his men shot it’s nose off while in Egypt. Led by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon…

Hopefully enough time has passed that you’ve seen “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” The 5th installment of the adventurous saga starring Harrison Ford had more than one important cameo, and we’re a little mad we could’ve had MORE. We’re speaking of course of the incandescent Karen Allen and the character of Marion Ravenwood. The daughter of one of Indy’s fellow archaeologists, Marion not only held the key to finding the Ark of the Covenant, but a special spark that made her an instant favorite. We first met the character in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” where a relationship…

Each year, fans from across the globe converge in downtown San Diego to experience the madness that is San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). 2023 will be an interesting year for the annual gathering, as multiple big kid studios and projects are opting not to have a presence. Of course, there is also the ongoing WGA strike, and the looming (and likely) possibility of a historic SAG-AFTRA strike on top of that. This morning, the SDCC panel schedule for Wednesday and Thursday went live. Some of the tentpole panels (“What We Do In The Shadows,” “The Wheel Of Time”) DON’T have talent (writers…

While we are happy to share the news of “Sex Education” returning, we’re equally sad season 4 will be their last. True, several of the young stars are going on to bigger things like “Doctor Who” and “Barbie” (and ALMOST “Superman: Legacy”), but we’ll miss it. “We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode,” series creator, lead writer and executive producer Laurie Nunn said. “They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.” Asa…

And here we thought today would be a slow news day! 3-time Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird,” “Little Women”) is apparently headed through the wardrobe at Netflix. The “Barbie” helmer is writing and directing ‘at least two’ films set in C.S. Lewis Company, Netflix will develop classic stories from across the Narnia universe…

We’d previously reported on a possible teaming up of two major players in the streaming game. HBO, which is under the per-view of Warner Bros. Discovery, was entering into negotiations with industry giant Netflix to possibly license some of those big HBO titles for their platform. It’s kind of a big deal, considering HBO has it’s own streaming service, Max. However as we know, Max has had what some would call…a rocky start. The parent company too has been suffering loss after loss, resulting on the scrapping of major projects right and left. The news this morning is HBO original…
