That’s right- your living room (or bedroom, who are we to judge) could smell like that iconic eatery Pizza Planet! Those folks at Homesick have created a line of Disney inspired candles from across the Magic Kingdom. And for some reason, one of the…scents…they chose to go for is from “Toy Story.” Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story,” intergalactic games shine neon lights across the room against perfectly matched plush carpets at Pizza Planet. The claw reaches down to free another lucky Alien as whiffs of pizza travel through the air. Top Notes: Orange Zest, Lime, AmberMid Notes: Crushed Basil,…
Despite the…mixed…reviews for Netflix’s live-action “Cowboy Bebop” (which is actually GREAT), the streaming giant has been going full sail ahead on several other takes on beloved anime. We just got a first look at the upcoming “Avatar The Last Airbender” series, as well as an official teaser and release date for “One Piece!.” Steve Maeda and Matt Owens developed the series. Eiichiro Oda, who wrote and drew the original manga and long-running anime series, has been very involved as well. Oda has kinda been our best source of updates and information. Iñaki Godoy will play Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu (Netflix’s…

“Babylon 5” has remained in the upper echelon of science fiction television series. Often mentioned alongside “Star Trek” and the remained “Battlestar Galactica” as an important and formative shows, “B5” is having something of a renaissance. Original creator and writer J. Michael Straczynski has been carrying the torch for several years, and has been our best source of information for upcoming touches on the classic. From him, we learned about an ANIMATED revisit to “Babylon 5,” featuring a voice cast compromised of the suriviving original cast. You can expect to hear Bruce Boxleitner as John Sheridan, Claudia Christian as Susan…
[editor’s note: this piece about repainted toys comes to us from John Starling, reporter at large and man of leisure.] Take a look at a photo of LEK Custom’s work, and you’d swear you’re looking at a 2D animation cel. But these are repainted, off-the shelf toys! Mostly Transformers and other robots, like Macross, Gundam, and Voltron. We found the Thai artist’s creations online during the pandemic, and just had to own one for ourselves. His work is meticulous, and his commissions are so popular that the waiting list to get one was over 2 years. But it was worth it.…
