The One Marvel Film Zack Snyder Would Direct is…

Sometime-divisive filmmaker Zack Snyder has another big film on the horizon. “Rebel Moon– Part One: Child of Fire” has all the trappings of a wannabe science-fiction epic, with the dark and brooding moody lighting we’ve come to expect from Snyder. The trailers show us a gritty intense setting, with some pretty beautiful costumes and visuals. We’re not gonna lie, we’re pretty interested in see it.

But we can’t talk about Snyder without touching on his shepherding the DCEU at Warner Bros. Pictures. “Man of Steel,” the superhero film which reinvigorated live-action DC Comics adaptations, remains a tentpole of the genre. [Editor’s note: I STILL FREAKING LOVE IT, DON’T AT ME.] From the Last Son of Krypton to the controversial “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and eventually “Justice League,” it’s not something he’s interested in revisiting. Unless….

    Marvel Comics

During an interview with THR, Snyder kinda sorta dropped some hints as to what it would take for him to make another superhero film. If James Gunn, who is now co-head of DC Studios, called him and offered him a project,  “a true representation” of the “Dark Knight Returns” graphic novel would be one possibility.

Would he jump comic universes and head to Marvel Studios? Possibly, for a Daredevil and Elektra movie, or even Frank Miller’s “Elektra Lives Again.” We do know Jennifer Garner is returning to play the character in “Deadpool 3,” but that’s likely to be a small cameo.

So, make of that what you will. Maybe we’ll see another Snyder superhero flick some day, but until then, we’ll have “Rebel Moon,” which hits Netflix and select theaters on December 15th, 2023.

Though she be but little, she is fierce.
