“The Many Saints of Newark” is the “Godfather Part III” of “The Sopranos” universe, and we didn’t need it as a film.
Author: Derrick Murray
“The Guilty” is gripping, digging its hooks into viewers and refusing to let go until the credits roll.
“Venom: Let there Be Carnage” may do well to let Hardy shine, but the film as a whole fails on just about every level. The end result is that the only really carnage is the film itself.
“2 Days in the Valley” is the Wish version of “Pulp Fiction.”
If you’re not fully invested in Netflix’s “Money Heist” yet, what’s stopping you? Season 5 is available now.
I’m honestly shocked at how few people are talking about “What If…?” right now. For whatever reason, there doesn’t seem to be the same fervor for discussion as say, “Loki” or “Wandavision.” Which is a bummer because the animated series has continued to cement itself as being truly something special. This is the closest we’ll ever get to Marvel Studios playing jazz- scattering the MCU with possibilities no longer restricted by the confines of Marvel expectations the studio itself has inadvertently created by can no longer escape. “What If…?” is as close to original adapted content as we’re ever going…
Here’s the thing, this isn’t that complicated of a topic to understand. It *is* more of a passion project on my part to report box office success more than anything anyone actually asked to dissect or analyze. But with the pandemic still ravaging the industry and literally changing the way we consume media, outlets and headlines have been running with un-contextualized versions of events surrounding the China box office and the films that are released there. It’s important to explain a few key factors very few outlets (like Deadline only focusing on Simu Liu’s comments instead of the overall box…
For any gamer, “Injustice: Gods Among Us” stands out as one of the best fighting games to date, as well as one of the most compelling DC narratives in recent memory. The story told in the game is dark and twisted, exploring what would happen if Superman were to descend into madness and shed his do-gooder demeanor and become an unstoppable menace. A trailer for the film dropped on September 8th, and looks to be another intense take on the “Injustice” concept. You can pre-order the animated film on Amazon here. If you’re unfamiliar with the storyline, it follows the…
It’s no secret that James Gunn is a visionary writer/director who is incredibly involved in just about every part of the filmmaking process. From script to directing to storyboarding, Gunn has earned his creative control over his projects, and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” looks to be no different. Gunn recently revealed a look into his filmmaking process, showing a giant stack of notes that he describes as his hand-drawn storyboard that accompanies the script. According to the tweet, the gigantic stack of papers represents “12 pages of script and will be the foundation for this section of the…
With the first trailer for “The Matrix: Resurrections” hitting the interwebs this week, it has opened the floodgates of speculation regarding plot and characters. The trailer for the 4th installment in the franchise doesn’t provide much in the way of story, really just showing us glimpses of returning franchise favorites and highlighting some cast additions. Personally, I’m not entirely convinced that this film actually exists, and until I’m sitting in the theater watching it all unfold nothing (including a trailer) can convince me otherwise. I have some misgivings about returning the world of man vs machines, but that’s another analysis…
