Earlier this month, Disneyland cast members in California voted on whether or not to authorize a strike, in response to contract negotiations that had been going on since April. Making this the first possible strike for the park since 1984. On July 29th, the unions officially agreed to ratify new three-year contracts with the company. The new contracts include a minimum wage base pay of $24, wage increases, seniority increases, and more flexible policies for sick leave and attendance, among other things. A good urban legend never really dies, does it? Lionsgate just released the first trailer for the upcoming film “Bagman,” based on a mythical creature that abducts children. It is directed by Colm McCarthy (“The Girl with All the Gifts”) from a script by John Hulme (“Blood, Sweat & Tears: A Basketball Exorcism”). The “Bagman” trailer opens with a woman explaining that many cultures have different versions of a creature that lures children to capture them with its bag. On July 26th, the 36th annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Bayfront, during San Diego Comic-Con. Named after Will Eisner, a pioneering comics creator and graphic novelist, the Eisner Awards are considered the Oscars of the comic book industry. Awards were bestowed across 32 categories for comics and graphic novels published in 2023. We are sorry to report that a crew member on James Gunn’s upcoming “Superman” film has passed away. The contractor was found in their car in the parking lot with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected at this time.  “Around 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Fayetteville Police responded to 500 Sandy Creek Road, Trilith Studios, for the report of an unconscious adult contractor located inside a vehicle on the property,” Capt. Lionsgate is currently developing a film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1979 novel, “The Long Walk.” It has just been announced, that Judy Greer (“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”) and Mark Hamill (“The Life of Chuck,” “Star Wars”) have joined the cast! Everyone’s favorite crime-fighting, blood-obsessed serial killer is back. Actor Michael C. We’ve got some big news out of San Diego Comic-Con for all the Whovians out there. Disney Branded Television and the BBC have confirmed the long-rumored “The War Between the Land and the Sea” series is happening! Grammy nominee Adam Lambert and “Mean Girls: The Musical”’s Auli’i Cravalho will be making their Broadway debuts!
