We are sorry to report that a crew member on James Gunn’s upcoming “Superman” film has passed away. The contractor was found in their car in the parking lot with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected at this time.
“Around 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Fayetteville Police responded to 500 Sandy Creek Road, Trilith Studios, for the report of an unconscious adult contractor located inside a vehicle on the property,” Capt. Austin Dunn said in a statement.
“Arriving officers and medical personnel found the patient deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” he explained. “Evidence collected revealed no suspicion of foul play, nor is the investigation connected to any ongoing studio projects. Additional details are unavailable at this time as the investigation is in its infancy.”
Representatives for Warner Bros., the studio producing “Superman,” have not commented on the situation. The film is currently wrapping production and is expected to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
