The “John Wick” universe just keeps getting bigger. The newest installment has the great Donnie Yen (“IP Man,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) reprising his role as Caine, the highly skilled blind assassin in “John Wick: Chapter 4.” Lionsgate has confirmed the currently untitled film is set to shoot in Hong Kong next year. Everyone’s favorite Gemini vegetarian Elle Woods is back! Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke, Reese Witherspoon, and Bruiser the dog confirmed the news at Amazon’s first-ever upfront presentation. The series will be a prequel to the “Legally Blonde” films, and will be called “Elle.” “Elle follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film,” the logline reads. Actor and consummate fanboy Nicolas Cage will become your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man once again in a new Amazon series. “Noir” will be a live-action show based on the “Spider-Man Noir” Marvel comic and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” character voiced by Cage. In 1995, Gregory Maguire released the novel “Wicked,” which tells the origin story of “The Wizard of Oz”’s villain Elphaba. Maguire’s book struck a chord with many readers and was adapted into a wildly popular musical in 2003. NBCUniversal is currently adapting that musical into a highly-anticipated film.  While we haven’t seen much footage, the studio just released an over two-minute behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the film. Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola has been working on his passion project film “Megalopolis” off and on since the 1980s. The long-anticipated movie is finally set to open at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. A fitting debut considering he’s won the Palme d’Or there twice before with “The Conversation” and “Apocalypse Now.” In honor of the film’s upcoming opening, Coppola has released second teaser trailer. See-Saw Films has confirmed that it is developing a biopic about the famed Everest mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, titled “Tenzing.” Norgay summited the mountain with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953, making him one of the first to do so. This was after six previous failed attempts to traverse the treacherous landmark. The hunt for who will play the titular role is still underway. Jack of all trades Sir Christopher Lee lived a sorted and fascinating life. The upcoming documentary “The Life and Deaths of Christopher Lee,” directed by Jon Spira, will try to separate fact from fiction via interviews with friends, family, and other entertainers. Spira has access to Lee’s scrapbooks and 100 interviews from the British Film Institute’s library to make this documentary.
