In 1995, Michael Mann’s “Heat” starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro took audiences by storm. Almost 30 years later, Mann has “just finished” and handed in the script for “Heat 2” to Warner Bros. Pictures. For over 40 years, the prestigious Sundance Film Festival has been held annually in Park City, Utah. After bids, negotiations, and rumblings about a change of venue, Sundance has signed a 10-year deal with Boulder, Colorado. The festival will move to its new home starting in 2027.  The festival had to take two years off from in-person screenings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For almost 40 years, the San Clemente-based surf brand Mayhem, founded by Matt Biolos, has been a symbol of local counterculture. Stickers bearing the brand’s distinctive logo can be seen all over Orange County, California. Biolos and business partner Mike Reola are now suing pop sensation Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) over the logo for her latest album, “Mayhem,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to theirs. On March 25 the pair’s company, Lost International LLC, filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court, in the Central District of California. The upcoming film is backed by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies. At this time it is unknown if Yeun will bend water, air, earth, or fire since character details are being kept under wraps. A new version of the AI program ChatGPT just launched with a feature that allows users to create images in the style of Studio Ghibli. Given the studio and founder Hayao Miyazaki’s unique animation style and widespread fanbase, this feature immediately went viral. Disney Parks are “a place where dreams come true,” but some people are taking that way too literally. Monday night, a pair of minors, who were suspected of stealing a car, led police on a chase through Orange County, California. Eventually, the alleged thieves decided to use a busy Disneyland parking structure to hide out. After a lengthy legal battle over the rights to the “James Bond” franchise, it has finally found a new set of producers. Rights holder Amazon MGM has just closed a deal with Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
