Starting June 23rd, at participating locations, McDonald’s is bringing back fried apple pies! The fast food juggernaut discontinued the sweet, lava-filled treats 34 years ago. But some of us can never forget those sweet, sweet mouth burns.  McDonald’s is bringing back the fried apple pie to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. Calling it a “bona fide national treasure.” “If you know, you know,” the chain teased in a press release. “If you don’t, June 23 is your chance to find out.” The fried apple pie started as a family recipe from East Tennessee Owner/Operator Litton Cochran. In the 1960s, these…

The release of Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn is just around the corner. But the hype train for the franchise’s even newer entry, Francis Galluppi’s Evil Dead Wrath, is already gaining steam. During a speech given at Michigan State University in April, producer Rob Tapert spilled the beans on Wrath’s setting. “Evil Dead Wrath. This is yet another great departure. It predates everything. It takes place in 1972,” Tapert said. Sam Raimi’s first Evil Dead film didn’t come out until 1981. That means that Wrath will be a prequel set before Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) ever set foot in the cabin.…

Netflix has canceled The Boroughs after only one season. The show is the Duffer Brothers’ spiritual successor to their series-turned-cultural phenomenon Stranger Things. Taking the concept of kids dealing with the supernatural, and flipping it to focus on some seniors dealing with the unknown.  This decision comes despite a writers’ room being opened and rumblings that seasons 2 and 3 would be shot back-to-back. But it just wasn’t the juggernaut that Stranger Things was.  The show pulled in 5.6 million viewers on its opening weekend. That grew to 9.5 million by the end of the week, but then dipped back…

Fentanyl has become one of the deadliest drug epidemics our country has seen. Scripps Research is developing a new vaccine to help prevent fentanyl overdoses by stopping it before it hits the brain. Instead of targeting the drug itself, this vaccine will train the immune system to recognize a broad range of fentanyl-related drugs. Currently, the only real treatment we have can only reverse an overdose after it’s started, and ideally, very soon after it’s started. In high doses, fentanyl and drugs like it disrupt brain function. This can result in your body suppressing vital signals that control things like…

At this point, fans of the Evil Dead franchise expect two things: Deadites and buckets of blood. It sounds like we are getting both with Sébastien Vaniček’s upcoming Evil Dead Burn. In a recent interview, the filmmaker teased a scene that had to be cut to receive an R-Rating.  “There is a scene that is not R-rated,” Vaničekin said in the latest issue of SFX magazine (via GamesRadar). “It’s a really, really hard scene. And I have to cut it, unfortunately, so you just won’t experience it as brutally as it is right now because I need to have the…
