Hi, I’m Ada. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

Ever watch the 80s sitcom “Small Wonder” and ask what it would be like with a horror bend? Or have you ever wanted a remake of 1996’s “Pinocchio’s Revenge?” Well, the trailer for the new horror movie “M3GAN” seems to be giving us just that. No horror fan will deny that the killer doll sub-genre has been having a moment, and this film seems to be offering us something a bit more bonkers.  The movie will tell the story of M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence in a life-like doll. She is programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and…

[Please note: there will be spoilers for “The Grimcutty” as well as some brief discussions of self-harm in this article.] Horror is a genre that is always steeped in subversive commentary, and Hulu’s original “The Grimcutty” is no exception. This John Ross-directed film tells the story of Asha Chaudhry (Sara Wolfkind) who has recently quit the track team. Her parents Leah (Shannyn Sossamon) and Amir (Usman Ally) believe this is a symptom of a troubled teen and react with “phone-free” outings. All in an effort to reduce both Asha and her younger brother’s Kamran (Callan Farris) screen time. That is…

Director and executive producer Todd Field ( “Tár”) has left Hulu’s “Devil in the White City” series. This comes just days after star Keanu Reeves exited the series as well. The project is an adaptation of the Erik Larson novel of the same name. Reeves’ departure could be linked to his involvement in an upcoming “Constantine” sequel. “Devil in the White City” will tell the true story of Daniel H. Burnham, a demanding but visionary architect, as he races to make his mark on history at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. He plans on doing so by working with Dr.…

Director Bassim Tariq (“Mogul Mowgli”) recently left his position on Marvel Studios’ latest adaptation of “Blade,” based on the Marvel comic of the same name. Typically on a major project like this, a new director would be put in right away so the studio doesn’t lose much production time. Crew members were notified October 11th that things are going in the opposite direction, and production has shut down. Marvel Studios indicated Tariq’s exit was due to scheduling conflicts.  “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an…

Blink-182 have announced the original lineup is back together for a new single, and a world tour. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker will reunite with Tom DeLonge for the first time since 2015. The band has really “come together,” the double-entendre-laced announcement video says. DeLonge left the band in 2015, and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba replaced him as lead guitarist on the band’s last two albums; 2016’s California and 2019’s NINE. Bassist Hoppus spent most of last year battling lymphoma. Apparently his diagnosis is what prompted Hoppus and DeLonge to reconnect. In an interview, Hoppus explained that the trio had…

Fans of the 1993 video game “Doom” have developed a running joke about getting the game to run on increasingly outlandish platforms. The game has been played on everything from a TI-81 calculator, to a motherboard BIOS, to a pregnancy test. Now, as of yesterday, we can add Microsoft Notepad to that list. YouTuber and Twitter user Samperson (Sam Chiet) uploaded a video of him playing the first-person shooter inside of Notepad. Uploading a video of him playing the game at 60 fps inside the barebones word-processor as proof, but with great talent also comes great doubt. Chiet has since…

“The Mean One” is a slasher horror spoof of the classic Dr. Suess character The Grinch. In the 1957 children’s book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!,” we watch as The Grinch does the unthinkable and tries to steal everyone Christmas from The Whoos. We can add this film to the recent slew of terrifying reimaginings of iconic family-friendly characters. Things like Winnie the Pooh and another twisted Santa movie. At least in this case, The Grinch starts off as a villain. This iconic character has already been played and voiced by Boris Karloff, Hans Conried, Bob Holt, Anthony Asbury, Jim…

When the “Community” movie was first announced, many fans noticed series staples Chevy Chase (Pierce), Donald Glover (Troy), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) were missing from the cast. While it’s HIGHLY unlikely we see Chase in anything related to the sitcom again, there is still hope for Glover and Brown’s return. “I think that Donald is coming, based on word of mouth, but it’s just the deal isn’t official or wasn’t official. It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald,” series creator Dan Harmon said. “So I believe he is coming back. I think if…

The upcoming tv series based on popular children’s book series “Goosebumps” just got a new star. The original series consisted of 62 books penned by R.L. Stine, but that number skyrockets to 200 books when you count in spin-offs like “Goosebumps HorrorLand,” all of which are published by Scholastic Publishing. Justin Long (“Tusk,” “Jeepers Creepers”) will star in Disney+’s live-action adaptation!
