Sony Pictures is starting pre-production on the official sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.” Gil Kenan, who co-wrote “Afterlife,” will be writing as well as taking over the director’s chair. Warner Bros. Pictures has released a teaser trailer for Bong Joon Ho’s next movie “Mickey 17,” starring Robert Pattinson. Other cast members currently include Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. Ho will also be writing and producing the film under his company Offscreen. “Mickey 17” is based on the Edward Ashton novel “Mickey7,” which was published in February 2022. Disneyland’s Indiana Jones themed ride, The Temple of the Forbidden Eye, is set to close in early 2023. Rumors have indicated it will be getting significant updates and enhancements. These could include a major overhaul to the attraction’s overall ride system, most likely due to age and an anticipated increase in traffic to the ride. Considering how often it’s been down the last few months, this makes sense. The former artistic director of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Serge Bromberg, could be facing a 4-year prison sentence for his part in a deadly fire. Bromberg was the artistic director for the festival from 1999 to 2012. After he left, he focused his attention on film restoration and distribution under the banner of Lobster Films, which he established in 1985. Lobster Films’ library consists of 50,000 vintage films and more than 210,00 reels. Back in August 2020, Bromberg was storing nitrate film reels in the basement of an eight-story apartment complex.
