Move over 7/11 you aren’t the only ones encouraging customers to bring in odd containers anymore. Theater chain Cinemark is getting in on the action for National Popcorn Day, January 19th, with their own BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket) promotion.  Customers can bring in any container, bag, or tote and get it filled up for just $5! The only catch is that containers can’t exceed 400 oz or the equivalent of two XL popcorns. Given theater concession prices, this is still one heck of a good deal.  For those that can’t make it to the theater, the company is also offering…

Well, we are saying goodbye to 2024 with one of the weirdest stories we’ve seen all year. On December 30th, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stopped a Rolls Royce Ghost for allegedly speeding along Highway 99. During this seemingly routine traffic stop, the officer found cannabis and a one-month-old baby spider monkey.  The driver was charged with a DUI, possession of cannabis for sale, and owning a primate, which is illegal in the state of California. “The monkey was safely taken by Animal Control where he will receive the proper care,” reads CHP’s Facebook post. “Some next level monkey business! …

Time has apparently not been kind to Buddy, played by Will Ferrell in 2003’s “Elf.” Over the weekend, Ferrell dressed up as a disheveled version of the character to attend a hockey game. This version came complete with a five o’clock shadow and a fake(???) cigarette. The December 29th match was between the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. Ferrell, is a long time fan of the Kings and often attends their games. Just normally not dressed as an elf who has fallen on hard times. During the game he told a broadcaster for FanDuel Sports Network that “it was…

Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman is currently portraying the cantankerous spy boss Jackson Lamb on Apple TV+’s “Slow Horses.” It seems his performance on the show is realistic enough for MI5 to hire him… to narrate “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Albeit a slightly updated version. Oldman Takes on Christmas The British counter-intelligence agency has partnered with Apple TV+ and the actor to breathe new life into this Christmas classic. Re-titling the project “A Christmas Story from MI5,” the video accompanying his narration takes place in Thames House (not Regent’s Park, like the show). “’Twas the night before Christmas when all…
