Fast food juggernaut McDonald’s has partnered with Squishmallows for a new line of Happy Meal toys. Jazwares, the company that makes the soft, squishy toys will be making 24 collectible versions that include exclusive and seasonal plush designs. To make the partnership even sweeter, Universal Music Group will also be part of the deal. 14 of the 24 Squishmallows will come with a playlist that matches their personality, created by Universal! Actors Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool”) and Kenneth Branagh (“Oppenheimer”) will star in the new action-adventure film “Mayday.” This project will be another joint venture between Apple Original Films and Skydance Media. The companies previously collaborated on the animated movies “Luck” and “Spellbound.” “Mayday” will be co-directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. The same duo behind the Chris Pine-led action-adventure comedy “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” The script is based on an original pitch that Goldstein and Daley made to Skydance earlier this year. After the massive success of “The Super Marios Bros. Movie,” Universal Pictures may be setting its sights on “The Legend of Zelda” as its next big video game adaptation. Emmy-nominated/winning actresses Elle Fanning (“The Great”) and Sarah Paulson (“Ratched”) have joined the cast of “I Am Sybil.” The new film is co-written and directed by Mirrah Foulkes (“Judy & Punch”). The project is based on the real-life case of Sybil, one of the first mainstream diagnoses of dissociative identity disorder (DID).* The name Sybil is a pseudonym given to patient Shirley Mason in the 1973 non-fiction novel “Sybil,” by Flora Rheta Schreiber. This year the company announced it will be adding a new character for the first time in 35 years, named Carmella Creeper!
