Do you remember when Universal Pictures wanted to create their own shared cinematic universe based on classic movie monsters? No? They started it with that one Tom Cruise movie, you know? “The Mummy?” in 2017? Well, you’re not alone. So granted the bar wasn’t exactly set high for a monster crossover like that, but it looks like that threshold is about to be crossed…by General Mills. That’s right. General Mills, the cereal company, is doing a crossover cereal event between five of its monster cereal mascots. If your response to this information is, “There’s FIVE, monster cereals?” then congrats, you’re…

In the world of action figures, there were few things more popular in the late 80s and early 90s than “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Thanks to the popularity of the 1987 animated series, seemingly every kid had a few of them. A decade prior to that, the hot ticket items were the original line of Kenner “Star Wars” figures. Now imagine what would happen if someone tried to combine those worlds together in a bizarre Dr. Moreau-like fashion. Avid toy aficionado and member of WB Games Alan Johnson posted some pieces of artwork that apparently came from a proposal to…
Grab your squirt guns kids, we’re goin’ back in! “Zombies Ate My Neighbors,” the classic video game homage to monstrous b-movies, is getting a re-release for a number of current consoles and PC. Even better, the oft-forgotten sequel “Ghoul Patrol” will come packaged with it, giving players the complete experience. When “Zombies Ate My Neighbors” was released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, it carried with it the distinctively creative and wacky stamp that LucasArts (now LucasFilm Games) was known for at the time. The game took players through a number of levels, playing as unlikely heroes,…
“Go Team Venture!” …and more! Adult Swim dropped some bombshell news on the world of animation today when they announced three upcoming films based on some of their most beloved programs of the last 20 years. “The Venture Bros.,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” and “Metalocalypse” will be returning in the form of straight to DVD / Blu-ray movies, and eventual streaming on HBO Max. This is huge news for fans of all three series, especially since “ATHF” wrapped up in 2015 as did “Metalocalypse” with completely unresolved storylines. The sting of the cancellations was felt again in 2020 when it…
With a lengthy history, “Resident Evil” manages to create a new and familiar experience at the same time with “Resident Evil Village.”
When the popular SHOWTIME series “Dexter” ended its eight year run in 2013, it left a sour taste in the mouth of many fans. Well, Showtime has just dropped a new trailer upon us to continue building excitement for the return of the much beloved serial killer. We reported the return of “Dexter” when it was announced…
Well, it’s official, retired and undefeated championship boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight YouTuber turned boxer, Logan Paul. The exhibition match will be held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and be broadcast on Showtime Pay Per View. Paul’s only other professional fight before this was against fellow YouTube star KSI back in November of 2019. The bout was actually a rematch from 2018 which ended in a draw. The follow-up resulted in a split decision loss for Paul, leaving his current professional record at 0-1-0. Mayweather on the other hand has a record of 50-0-0, and has been…
The last few days has been a tumultuous one for physical media collectors and online news outlets. Articles and social media posts were alight with news that Warner Bros. was supposedly moving out of the Blu-ray and DVD market in 2022. As it turns out, those reports were based off of some out of context messages about “Looney Toons” from someone with no actual affiliation with Warner Bros. home media distribution. The confusion started when on April 19th, 2021, a Twitter user shared screen shots of comments made by noted animation historian, Jerry Beck. The user in question will remain…
Some video games have complex histories that aren’t really all that complicated when you break them down. “Duke Nukem Forever” spent over a decade in development but basically just changed hands from developer-to-developer time after time. “Secret of Mana” was originally supposed to be a Nintendo PlayStation game from when Sony and Nintendo were forming a potential partnership for a CD based console. Then Nintendo pulled the plug on the idea and the game had to get drastically reduced. And then there’s “Nier.” When “Nier” was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in April of 2010, the…
Kelsey Grammer is no stranger to music. As many “Frasier” fans know, he famously sang the ending theme song to the sitcom. The writers often found excuses for him to sing throughout the series itself. Who can forget his stunning rendition of “Buttons & Bows” from the season 3 episode, “Look Before You Leap?” But apparently Kelsey has put those talents to use in an upcoming film with some help from Weezer frontman and songwriter, Rivers Cuomo. In Paramount’s soon to be released film “The Space Between,” Grammer plays the role of Micky Adams. A fictional mid 70s musical artist…
