Heath Andrews has been a student of pop culture ever since he found himself to be the only student in 3rd grade who regularly watched "Get Smart" on Nick-At-Nite. Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Prior to writing for Nerdbot he's written for Review You, MyAnimeList, and various advertising companies. Since 2016 he's run his own YouTube channel under the moniker of The Critical Android where he livestreams video games and uploads podcasts about pop culture and Frasier.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s,” the little gaming franchise that could, still apparently does! No one saw this series coming nor did anyone see the impact it would have on the world. It helped make various YouTubers into household names, spawned its own sub-genre of games, emphasized the scariness of animatronics and spawned a multi-media franchise that has crossed over into toys, music, and books. There was talk of a film for years but nothing has ever came of it. Well, we have something now, and it involves possibly the greatest animatronic studio in the world, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. What’s…

Of the many intellectual properties Disney acquired with their purchase of 20th Century Fox, one of them was “Predator.” While the original 1987 film still ranks as a stone-cold action classic, the subsequent entries have not done the franchise much justice. What was the public to make of a film prequel taking place in Comanche territory in the early 1700s called “Prey?”Well, as it turns out- it made for the biggest premiere in Hulu history. Celebrities and restaurants have a long and storied history. Remember Planet Hollywood? Well some of us do at least. Or remember Kenny Rogers Roasters? It was a restaurant chain founded by the late great Kenny Rogers, and still exists in Malaysia, Dubai, Thailand and a few other places. Anyway, we could go on listing a bunch of other places that celebrities have restaurants, (Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti, anyone?) but instead we’re going to focus on a new one by The Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair. What does Ric Flair have to do with chicken wings? Well, it’s a good question and…

Cinnamon is such a distinct flavor and yet it pairs so well with different things. Put a little bit of cinnamon on a donut or a pastry with some icing and you’ve got yourself a delectable delicacy. Add some cinnamon to something already spicy and you get yourself some fireball candy. What if you combined all of that together though alongside some milk and put it all in a cereal bowl? Well, then you’d get a new cereal from General Mills that will be hitting Walmart this August. What cereal could possibly be concocted from this mix of flavors? It’s…

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most well known honors a celebrity can receive outside of a competitive ceremony. Besides being prestigious it’s also a public attraction that people can visit and see who has made their way into Hollywood history. While there are a great number of celebrities we’re happy to see get their own star, we’re especially happy to report that one of them is soon to be Kenan Thompson. Many late 80s and early 90s kids grew up with Thompson for years. In “D2: The Mighty Ducks,” we saw him perform the legendary knuckle…

Of all Pixar films, few have been as divisive as the “Cars” franchise. Despite being a box-office and merchandising juggernaut, it’s also responsible for “Cars 2.” Some consider it the weakest film in the entire Pixar catalog. That said, the series did bounce back pretty strongly with “Cars 3,” ending on a high note. But when the power of merchandising is still strong, there is no end and now the cars are coming back! It’s not a movie this time around though, instead Lightning McQueen and Mater are going on a road trip in a new series on Disney+. Who…

It has been no secret for those following industry news over the last few years that the Golden Globe Awards were in trouble. Things have become so bad in fact that NBC refused to air the award ceremony in 2022. In what may be a desperate bid to keep the awards going, the HFPA has transferred the rights to the Golden Globes to Eldridge Industries. The recent downfall of the HFPA is arguably a long…

It’s often said in politics that people are most likely to vote for somebody they can sit down and have a beer with. Well, what if that somebody was a miniature pony; would the situation change? What if the pony also drank beer? Those are two very important questions that have seemingly been answered by the people of a small English village called Cockington. A village where Patrick the miniature Shetland Pony is now the unofficial mayor. So while this all sounds absurd, it’s actually really kind of sweet when you know more about it. Seriously, stick with us on…
