It’s an absolute shocker of a news item to drop when the CEO of one of the largest media companies in the world suddenly announces they’ve leaving their company. That’s exactly what happened on April 23rd, 2023. NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell announced his immediate departure, following what was termed an “inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company.” Shell’s comment on the matter was all of two sentences long, and amounted to stating the reason for his departure and his apologies and gratitude to the NBCUniversal parent company, Comcast. Few programs still court controversy the way that “South Park” does. The long-running Comedy Central program has stirred up political, religious, and social debate on many occasions, and now its stirring up legal ones. Warner Bros. Discovery filed suit against Paramount Global, regarding streaming rights to the cartoon. On November 5th, 2022, Aaron Carter passed away. The pop star, actor, and younger brother of Backstreet Boys member, Nick Carter, Aaron found success in Europe and the United States in the late 90s and early 2000’s. Like many child stars, Aaron’s journey through life was filled with controversy including financial hardships, legal battles, and drug use.
