Sometimes the news gets things wrong despite all best efforts. Other times, inaccurate information is disseminated from a reliable source, only for that source to be wrong. Today is one of the latter situations. In a matter that is heart-wrenching due to someone being in their final hours, they were mistakenly reported as dead before they actually passed. “Leave it to Beaver” actor Tony Dow was reported as deceased while still alive. Dow is known for his role as Wally Cleaver, the older brother of Beaver in the aforementioned sitcom. It was known a couple of months ago that Dow…

Amusement parks may be fun, but the business and politics of them can be far from it. Whether it be licensing rights, machine malfunctions, cost of maintenance, or even the design of a new ride, the behind the scenes affairs can be nightmarish. While the current situation for Universal doesn’t rise to the level of being a nightmare, it also hasn’t been a walk in the park (or amusement park) for them either. So let’s take a look at the years-long battle between Universal Studios and Dymorides. To fully grasp everything that’s been going on, we have to go back…

It seems like Netflix can’t stop making the news for various reasons. Maybe it’s the shedding of subscribers, layoffs, or prophecies of gloom and doom in the battle between streaming platforms. This latest shake-up however is less clear cut in terms of what it means for the future of the company. Netflix’s head of adult animation, Mike Moon, is leaving to pursue other opportunities. When one thinks of original Netflix animated series, the first ones that come to mind are “BoJack Horseman” and possibly “Big Mouth.” Netflix had hoped to continue that success by bringing in veteran animator, writer, producer…

It was 20 years ago when a young author by the name of Christopher Paolini hit it big with his fantasy young adult novel series, The Inheritance Cycle. The first novel “Eragon” was published in 2002 right before the young adult genre hit it apex. While Eragon was later adapted into a movie by the same name in 2006, the world hasn’t seen much of the franchise outside of some additional novels and a collection of short stories. Thanks to Disney+, The Inheritance Cycle is going to begin anew as an exclusive series. Paolini will be a co-writer for the…

Well, sometimes we just can’t have nice things. There have been many discontinued products that hit us all in the heart, or digestive system. Ecto Cooler, Waffle Crisp (before it came back), the McDonald’s Arch Deluxe, Butterfinger BB’s. So many memories, so many foods; all those snacks, lost in time. We can add one more victim to that collection- ice cream treat, the Choco Taco. Yes, the Choco Taco, a waffle cone turned horizontal and loaded with ice cream. If you haven’t had one before, it’s not as if you were missing out on anything truly revolutionary; just a novel…

There’s a heavy temptation to write the following article entirely in a series of sentences that are just, “I am GROOT,” repeated over and over. For the sake of actually conveying information you might be interest in though, we’ll refrain from doing that. Instead we’ll tell you that we are happy to say that there’s a new series of shorts sprouting up on Disney+ next month, featuring everyone’s favorite sentient alien tree, Groot. So maybe Groot wouldn’t be the first pick you’d have for the star of a new Marvel spin-off series, even more so when it’s the baby form…

This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series SDCC 2022

During San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), we learned some additional tidbits about the upcoming series, “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai.” A few more tasty morsels got served about the upcoming voice cast for the HBO Max series. The biggest dollop of awesomeness though may be the fact that the actor who played Billy, Zach Galligan, will also be returning. Galligan’s return comes with a big caveat- he won’t be playing Billy. “I can’t say too much but because it’s 1920s China, I’m not playing Billy because he wasn’t around,” Galligan said during the panel. Which makes sense. Billy was an irresponsible…

While it may not be with the deeply smooth voice of Keith David, Goliath, leader of the Gargoyles, is coming back. It’s been 25 years since the series ended, longer if you disregard “The Goliath Chronicles,” but we’ll be able to dive back into the surprisingly dark world of mythical monsters in New York on the printed or digital page. We anticipated announcements of various kinds coming out of the San Diego Comic Con, but the continuation of “Gargoyles” was not necessarily one of them we had on our bingo cards. We don’t know a lot of information at the…

There are some legendary games that have been ported from console to console to console. “Street Fighter II” was in the arcades, the Super Nintendo, the Genesis, the Switch, home computers, the Game Boy, the Game Boy Advance…the list goes on. “The Elder Scrolls: V” shares that distinction having originally appeared on the PC, PlayStation 3, and XBox 360 in 2011. Since then its basically been everywhere. You can’t throw a copy without it hitting some other version in the knee. And now it’s coming to tarot cards. Well, perhaps it’s more appropriate to say the “Skyrim” theming is coming…
