It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 3 and a half years since the tragic on set death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. She was shot while filming scenes for the Western film “Rust.” There should have been safety procedures and oversight in place to avoid this kind of tragedy from occurring. It is with a very heavy heart that we report the passing of one of the greatest actors in the history of Hollywood. Gene Hackman has passed away at his home in New Mexico. The loss is even more emotionally devastating in that Hackman’s wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were also found deceased as well. There are few things more morbidly interesting than accidents at amusement parks. A large part of it is the contrast in circumstances. Rides of all kinds, from roller coasters to bumper cars are supposed to be fun. When something tragic or terrifying happens with one of these rides, the mental dissonance resonates with people.
