Since 2016 he's run his own YouTube channel under the moniker of The Critical Android where he livestreams video games and uploads podcasts about pop culture and Frasier.

Mid-term elections are coming up, which you probably already know from the constant stream of social media posts and news articles. Many Hollywood actors are known for taking an interest in politics and throwing their celebrity and clout behind causes and fundraisers. Sometimes it can be a bit much, other times it can lead to unique experiences that you wouldn’t be able to see again if you tried. We’d like to thinks this upcoming event will fall into the latter category considering it involves the casts of both “The West Wing” and “Veep.” The genesis of this fundraising event comes…

Vampire movies are nothing new. One of the most iconic silent films of all time is the 1922 German film, “Nosferatu.” Flash forward seventy years later, and we’d receive another iconic vampire film in the form of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. A gothic masterpiece for the ages, it was successful at the time of release and has since become even more popular for it casting, costumes, aesthetic, and shaping of vampire lore. 30 years later and the film is getting a 4K steelbook release and a bit more than that, if you happen to live in…

In 1981, the world was introduced to one of the more memorable scenes in film history, when Michael Ironside made a man’s head explode. In fantastically gory fashion, the character of Darryl Revok used his psychic powers to obliterate a dude’s skull and prove that director David Cronenberg has no peer in terms of body horror. That scene was a part of the movie “Scanners.” While there have been a number of sequels since, (none of which had Cronenberg’s involvement) none of them were worth watching. Now though, a series is in development with talent attached to it which may…

Of all the network shows to premiere in the mid to late 90s, none of them have the bizarre build-up and forgotten legacy of “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction.” Trying to encapsulate the odd history and cult status of this anthology series is hard to do, but trust us, if you know of the program, you know what we’re talking about. It has been over two decades since the program has had a new episode on American shores, but there may be something on the horizon. Maybe; after all this is a show that played fast and loose with trickery,…

While Vince Gilligan may be too old to call a “wunderkind” at this point in time, he has certainly come into his own over the last decade and a half. His last two tv shows- “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” – were massive hits, both critically and audience-wise. When you have back-to-back successes like that, surely the next project is going to attract some attention. Considering this track record, as well as a re-team with one of the breakout stars of “Better Call Saul,” it’s not surprising Gilligan’s next project already has a two-season order. The writer/director will be…

Gas prices are high; it’s a frustrating fact. Even with prices dropping in the country as of the time of this writing, it’s still a hard pill to swallow. It’s no surprise really that people would be attempting to steal gas then, heck it happens even when prices aren’t incredibly high. You’ll hear stories about people trying to siphon petrol out of another person’s tank or maybe using stolen debit cards to buy gas, but there has to be only so much you can steal in one go right? There has to be a limit. Well, what if that limit…

One of the better things to come out of Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox was how it affected Hulu. With Disney having bought out Fox’s stake in it, they’ve been able to use the streaming platform to host a variety of Fox shows, specifically ones from their cable network FX. The FX on Hulu branding has allowed for older shows like “Rescue Me” and “The Shield” to find a new home alongside newer programs like “What We Do in the Shadows.” Alongside that though is one of the more unique programs to come around in some time, “Reservation Dogs,”…

Oh, the fall season. As we mark the end of summer, we also usher in a new season of television. If there has been one constant over the last 47 years of tv, its been “Saturday Night Live.” The program itself is a perennial lynchpin of NBC’s line-up, with a ever-changing list of guest hosts and musical acts. And now, we know who’s kicking off season 48! The season premiere on October 1st will feature Miles Teller, fresh off his success in “Top Gun: Maverick.” If you can’t get Tom Cruise to appear, might as well get his co-star, right?…

It’s hard to imagine growing in a world that didn’t have some form of Scooby-Doo in it. The original cartoon premiered back in 1969 is still being re-ran, and it’s hard to count the number of spin-offs that have followed. There were subsequent direct-to-video animated films, like “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island” (1998). You could easily argue the film helped reinvigorate the franchise, and ultimately led to 2002’s live-action “Scooby-Doo” feature film. It was later followed up with “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” in 2004. Maybe you have fond memories of these films, maybe you never watched them before. Either way, you’ll…

Mike Flanagan is Netflix’s hot hand in horror these days. Over the last couple years he’s brought to us his interpretation of Stephen King’s “Gerald’s Game” as well as an updated version of the Shirley Jackson classic, “The Haunting of Hill House.” In 2021 he created his own series “Midnight Mass” exclusively for the streaming platform. Now. we have a spookily substantive trailer for his next project, “The Midnight Club.” And unlike the too often, short, uninspiring teasers we tend to get, this one is two and a half minutes of chilling set-up. Best of all, it’s premiering soon. The…
