Heath Andrews has been a student of pop culture ever since he found himself to be the only student in 3rd grade who regularly watched "Get Smart" on Nick-At-Nite. Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Prior to writing for Nerdbot he's written for Review You, MyAnimeList, and various advertising companies.

Nintendo makes headlines for a number of reasons. The popularity of the Switch 2, the omnipresence of Pokémon, new announcements for the franchise, and the legal department. That last one because the company is known for being aggressive for going after copyright and patent violations. “Palworld” and it’s alleged similarities to Pokémon comes to mind. Nintendo isn’t the only company to resort to litigation, because Sony has filed a lawsuit against Chinese gaming giant Tencent for alleged similarities to their “Horizon” games. Tencent is a huge company, to put it gently. Not only are they their own entity, but they…

There are some characters in the universe of film that find their way coming back to the screen in new ways for new generations. James Bond might be the most prominent example, but there are a multitude more than that. One such character, even though he hasn’t been as prevalent lately, is that of Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The bumbling French detective was brought to prominence in a series of films starring the late legend, Peter Sellers. Soon, another legendary comedic figure will be coming into the role and putting his own spin on it, Mr. Eddie Murphy. Sellers’ official last…

Earlier this month, it was revealed that season 4 of Netflix’s “Monster” will focus on Lizzie Borden. Neither Netflix nor series creator Ryan Murphy officially confirmed subject, but it was looking pretty concrete that the children’s rhyme subject and murder suspect was going to be the featured person of interest. Yes, season 4 will center on Lizzie Borden, and we know who will play her. Maybe it’s that rhyme about the ax and the whacks, but it’s easy to fall into the trappings of referring to Lizzie Borden as an axe-wielding murderer. Whether she actually committed the murders of her…

Last week, social media went bonkers when Chris Martin accidentally exposed a cheating scandal involving the CEO of the company Astronomer. Andy Byron was caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert with Kristin Cabot, who was not only NOT his wife, but also the chief of HR for the company. Talk about your public relations and internal corporate ethics nightmares! The internet has had a field day with all of this, and Astronomer has made it a point to review the situation in a seemingly responsible manner. And they also hired Chris Martin’s ex, Gwyneth Paltrow to be…

It’s not every day that you get to see Chuck E. Cheese getting arrested. Well, maybe in your Florida Man neck of the woods it is, but for most people, it’s not a common occurrence. After all, what’s the motivation to arrest someone while in costume, in front of children, at a Chuck E. Cheese? There’s a lot of questions to be answered and asked in a situation like this, and it’s all thanks to some events that unfolded earlier this month in Tallahassee. Back in June, a woman went to a party at a Chuck E. Cheese and noticed…

A little over two months ago, we bore witness to the first trailer for “The Long Walk.” Based on a Stephen King novel, (written under his Richard Bachman pseudonym) we watched as a group of young men set off down the road to participate in the titular, “Long Walk.” And if you saw that trailer, or know the story from its written form, then you know this isn’t a pleasure stroll. One hundred men walk at no less than three miles per hour; falling under that pace will result in you being killed. Why would people agree to do this?…

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but a Stephen King novel is about to receive an adaptation. We know, surprising, right? Who would have imagined it? Though in fairness, two of the upcoming releases are actually under King’s pseudonym of Richard Bachman. So do they still count? Either way, writers, directors, production companies; they all can’t seem to get enough of King, which is why yet another of his stories is set to hit the big screen. And this one does have some promise to be uniquely fun. “The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon” was released in 1999.…

“He sits. He stays. He shoots. He scores.” These immortal words were transcribed on the promotional material for the 1997 film, “Air Bud.” The live-action Disney family comedy made us believe that a dog could play basketball. It was the kind of film that only the ’90s really could have generated in theaters and ultimately resulted in a direct to video franchise that produced more films than you probably would’ve guessed. But what was once old is new again, and Air Budis going to be returning to the big screen in the upcoming, appropriately named film, “Air Bud Returns.” Cineverse…

Few people can lay claim to the successful run of animated features that Chris Sanders has had. After co-directing and co-writing the original “Lilo & Stitch” in 2002, he would go on to do the same with 2010’s “How to Train Your Dragon,” and write and direct “The Wild Robot” in 2024.
